In Thanksgiving of 2013, the Lord called Drs. Peter and Cecilia Chan to go to Taiwan on a vision trip. Peter was an entrepreneur and Cecilia was a corporate executive. Within 24 hours after arriving Taiwan, the Lord revealed to them the college campus as their mission field and the Gospel Café on campus as the missional business.
On March 1, 2014, Peter and Cecilia arrived Taiwan for their long-term mission after locking up their home in northern California. Without much connection, no one but God received them at the Taoyuan International airport. On March 3, 2014, they received a vision and mission to develop a model in Missional Business in Taiwan that will be adaptable to other countries in SEA. The plan was to start a few cafés inside Taiwan college campuses for testing and select two of the most promising cafés as samples for the deployment of 32 cafés in Taiwan college campuses.
Both of them had no experience in food business or campus evangelism. Thanks to the Lord for His grace and blessings, He guided and provided connections and resources for the college campus Gospel café. The plan is on track and 4 cafés are currently in operation with campus church ministries. 4 more Gospel cafés are planned for the next 12 months.
